A friendly 4‑step setup: create a device key → install the agent → verify → done.

Step 1 — Choose the device
Name it so you recognize it later. Pick the OS you’ll install the agent on.
The agent sends a small heartbeat every ~5 minutes. Treat the device key like a password.
Device key is like a password. Keep it secret. If leaked, re‑enroll.
Step 2 — Install the agent
This is the “always‑on” part. One click to download, then run it on the device.
Windows (recommended)
Best path: run as Administrator → installs a scheduled task (every 5 min). Not admin? It still sends a one‑time check.

After download: open Downloads (Ctrl+J) and run the file. Windows may show “Unknown publisher” → run anyway.
Alternative: PowerShell command

Recommended: copy the Terminal command. Alternatively download the install script and run it in Terminal (agent every 5 min).

Using the Terminal command is the most reliable. If you download the script: run
bash ~/Downloads/pulse-installer-macos.sh in Terminal. If macOS blocks it, use right‑click → Open in Finder or allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security.Terminal command (recommended)

If the agent was installed before but you still see no metrics: clean it up, then run the Terminal command above again.
Enroll first…Clean reinstall
Runs uninstall first, then installs again immediately.
Enroll first…Linux
Recommended: copy the terminal command (usually runs with
sudo). Alternatively download the installer script and run it (agent every ~1 min).1) Download

The terminal command is the most reliable option. The installer typically sets up a small systemd timer so the agent runs automatically.

For rollouts, use the personalized installers above per device. The old “raw” agent scripts are intentionally not linked anymore because they lack device keys.

Troubleshooting (common fixes)
• Windows: try “Run as Administrator”. If scripts are blocked, right‑click file → Properties → Unblock.
• macOS: if blocked by security, allow the script in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
• Still not connected? Re‑run the installer or use the “Copy one‑line command” option.
No passwords via email/chat. Alerts are automatic; human response windows are agreed explicitly.
